MJM Design Studio

I designed my studio to be readily reconfigurable. There's lots of light coming in through the French doors, and on warm summer days I open the doors and enjoy the fresh air. I have a full compliment of tools for my work -- everything from wax tools, a drill press and band saw, to a custom kiln (and a big soft-cushioned easy chair).

My industrial design background supports my artistic methods; I often use molds and plaster casts to produce my art, and I often rework the molds to alter the results. To create the molds, I first work in either microcrystalline wax or clay, then create a plaster mold into which I melt glass.
